Gamrot vs Parke heated rematch set for KSW Dublin

After their controversial and heated first fight at KSW 39, Mateusz Gamrot (13-0, 4 KO, 3 Sub) and Norman Parke (23-6-1) will do it all again for the lightweight title at KSW 40 at the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland on October 22nd.

During their first fight at KSW 39: Colosseum Parke claimed Gamrot bit his finger during the second round, while Gamrot claimed it was Parke who was putting fingers into his mouth. This sparked some controversy during the bout and from that moment on the intensity of the fight increased and both fighters put on an incredible contest and great performances. Ultimately though it was Gamrot who retained his KSW lightweight title on the judges scorecard. Now Norman Parke has a chance to even the scorecards in his home land of Ireland, where he hasn’t been beaten since 2006, and capture the lightweight strap.

"I can’t wait to rematch that cheater Gamrot, he knows what he did in the first fight", said Parke. "I went to Poland and beat him in front of 58,000 Polish fans, the judges didn’t give me the fight but everyone knows who won. I’ve more Polish fans now than he does. Now it is time for him to come to my land, into my home. I’m going to beat him, get the win I deserved, and walk away as the new KSW lightweight champion."

At 26-years-old and an undefeated 13-0 record, Poland’s Mateusz Gamrot has risen to become one of Europe’s top lightweights. After making his debut in 2012 he quickly registered wins over tough fighters like Andre Winner, Tim Newman and Marif Piraev and went 6-0 under the KSW banner before winning the title in 2016 with a unanimous decision victory over fellow European standout Mansour Barnaoui at KSW 35. The champ has defended his title twice now, which includes the win over Parke in his last fight at KSW 39. There was some controversy over that win and this is something Gamrot is looking to put to bed in Ireland.

“I’m really happy for that rematch, even though I didn’t expect it so fast. ", stated Gamrot. “In the first fight Norman Parke fought the weakest “Gamer” version ever, but I still beat him. Imagine what happens, when I’m 100%. Thanks to the fact that the fight will be 5 rounds, there will be no controversy this time. I will punch, kick, take him down. I’ll be on him until he breaks down. I love to fight on my opponent’s turf and humiliate him.”
