The Violence Queen receives her next challenge

v>An all Brazilian showdown between two of the world’s best female flyweights will go down on October 22nd as ’The Violence Queen’ Ariane Lipski (9-3) will look to defend her crown against Mariana Morais (12-4) at KSW 40 in the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland.

Lipski stunned the near 60,000 KSW fans in attendance at the historic KSW 39 event when she captured the inaugural flyweight title with a near flawless performance when she submitted Diana Belbita, the seventh stoppage win of her career - five of which came in the first round. The 23-year-old made her KSW debut in late 2015 and she introduced herself with an exciting KO finish over the previously undefeated Katarzyna Lubonska. She followed this up with an impressive first round TKO win over veteran Sheila Gaff the following year.

Winning the title meant that Lipski extended her current streak to 7-0. Now her next challenge will be a familiar one in the shape of Mariana Morais. The pair were originally set to face each other on the Brazilian scene in 2016. Morais enters this contest with a fearsome record of her own. The 22-year-old has secured all but one of her wins by way of stoppage - three TKO’s and eight submissions.

This fight pits two of the biggest prospects in women’s MMA against one another in what should be a thrilling contest. Both love a finish and this fight has ’don’t blink’ written all over it.

KSW 40 will be headlined by Five Times World’s Strongest Man Mariusz Pudzianowski vs. James ’The Hammer’ McSweeney and a heated rivalry between Norman Parke and Mateusz Gamrot will take the co-main event slot. Also on the card is the return of KSW superstar Michal Materla, Irish MMA pioneer Chris Fields, Dublin’s Paul Redmond, fan favourite Maciej Jewtuszko, and much more.
