A bantamweight contest between longtime KSW fighter Anzor Azhiev (7-2, 1 NC) and Croatia’s Antun Racic (19-8-1) has today been added to the KSW 40 card at the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland on October 22nd.

27-year-old Azhiev made his promotional debut as a 1-0 fighter at KSW 18 back in 2012 and was immediately thrown in the deep end. In his first three fights under the KSW banner he faced and beat European MMA veterans Cenzig Dana, Josh Reed, and Pavel Svoboda, all fighters who has vastly more cage time than him.

Azhiev’s only career loses came to former champ Artur Sowinski and current featherweight champ Kleber Koike Erbst. The Russian born fighter has since dropped down to bantamweight and now has his sights set on eventually becoming the first KSW bantamweight champion. First he beat Kamil Selwa at KSW 38 and now Antun Racic is in his way at KSW 40.

Also 27-years-old, Racic has been a professional fighter since 2009 and has competed for the likes of Superior Challenge, M-1 Global, and was a champion in the FFC promotion in his native Croatia. A formidable grappler, most of his wins have come via submission which should make for an interesting contest against Azhiev.

This fight completes the nine-fight KSW 40 card which will feature Mariusz Pudzianowski vs. James McSweeney in the main event, the rematch between rivals Norman Parke and Mateusz Gamrot in the co-main event, the return of Polish superstar Michal Materla, Irish MMA pioneer Chris Fields, ’The Violence Queen’ Ariane Lipski, and much more.
