Artur Sowinski: Salahdine is talented but I would love to knock him out
This Saturday night at KSW 43 we will see a very intriguing match-up between former champ Artur Sowinski (18-9) and undefeated prospect Salahdine Parnasse (10-0-1). The last time we saw both fighters compete was at KSW 41 in December. That night Sowinski lost after being submitted by rival Kleber Koike Erbst and we witnessed Parnasse put in a really great performance, in what was his KSW debut. This night thought Sowinski a lot of lessons and he sees himself as a better fighter as a result.
"I was really upset of course," stated Sowinski. "But you are winning or you are learning, right? I analized the fight, I know what I did wrong and now is time to move on. I made a series of mistakes which decided that I lost this match. I regret those mistakes, but this will be the last time I’ll made them."
At 31-year-old he is eleven years the senior of young Salahdine, but having witnessed what the young Frenchman is capable of Sowinski is not taking this test lightly in the slightest and believe this fight makes a lot of sense as both men work towards the title.
"He is young but he has 10 fights on his pro record. He is undeafeted, that says a lot," said Sowinski. "I think our matchup makes a lot of sense after what he showed in the fight with Lukasz Rajewski. We have the same goal, to be on top of the featherweight division."

Sowinski does think Salahdine has certain advantages but ultimately though he believes it is his experience that will win him this fight. "He is a very talented fighter who will fight for the belt in future. I have advantage in everything but reach and quickness. My experience will pay off in this fight. I see many ways the fight can go. I’m confident on my feet and on the ground. But definitely I would love to knock him out."
The KSW featherweight division is a little undecided at the moment. Although Kleber beat Sowinski he missed weight, so the the title is curently vacant. A rematch between Kleber and Marcin Wrzosek for the title is rumoured to being considered for a future KSW card. Sowinski believes this should be the fight while also acknowledging his own journey back to the title will take a couple of fights.
"I know that I lost my chance in the last fight with Kleber Koike. Now I will have to make much longer journey to get the shot on a title. I need to stay in a queue and win upcoming matchups to prove that I should fight for the belt one more time. But now my thoughts are circling around the clash with Salahdine," said Sowinski. "For me that is obvious that Kleber and Wrzosek should fight now. I wish best luck to my countryman, Marcin Wrzosek. I don’t really like him but I will always cross my fingers for all Polish fighters, so I would like to see him winning."
