Serbian heavyweight destroyer Darko Stosic (14-4) will step in on short notice to face Polish veteran Michal Kita (20-12-1) at KSW 61 on June 5th live on www.KSWTV.com.

The 29-year-old replaces Jay Silva and will see this as his opportunity to capture a title shot. Stosic made his promotional debut at KSW 59 with a devastating KO win over Michał Włodarek and imediately called out a warning to heavyweight champ Phil De Fries. 

Undefeated in his career at heavyweight, Stosic has a 71% stoppage ratio with nine wins coming by way of knockout and will be looking to add to this with another win on June 5th.

With fifteen years fighting in MMA, Michal Kita will be unfazed by Stosic's KO attributes. The 41-year-old has faced giants from all over Europe throughout his long career and never backed down from a challenge. 

Infact, with an 85% finishing ratio, it's Kita with the more stoppages. The Polish slugger has scored wins over the likes of Valentijn Overeem, Igor Pokrajic, DJ Linderman, Ricco Rodriguez, Aleksei Oleinik, and Michal Andryszak during the course of his career, and even challenged for the KSW heavyweight title in his last fight.

Stosic vs. Kita is a new school vs. old school heavyweight battle with potential title implications on the line!

Five-time world’s strongest man Mariusz Pudzianowski (14-7) vs. KSW 1 tournament winner Lukasz Jurkowski (17-11) will serve as the main event of the evening and KSW 61 will also see the return of the fans. Under government guidelines, the Ergo Arena in Gdansk, Poland, will operate at a 50% capacity.
