Talented German up-and-comer David Zawada (9-1, 6 KO, 2 Sub) will square off against KSW welterweight title holder Borys Mańkowski (15-5-1, 3 KO, 5 Sub) in one of the three main bouts of KSW 29, on December 6th in Kraków. It will be Mańkowski’s first appearance since dethroning the long-time KSW welterweight champion Aslambek Saidov this May.
 
24-year-old Zawada is the younger brother of the German MMA veteran Martin “King Kong” Zawada, who already fought for KSW four times. Nicknamed “Sagat”, David is a highly-touted prospect on the vibrant German mixed martial arts scene, boasting an impressive record of nine wins and only one defeat. Six of his victories came by way of knockout and two by way of submission.
 
In his most recent outing, Zawada defeated his compatriot Sebastian Risch via first round stoppage and earned the number one contender status for the GMC’s welterweight title, which is held by fellow KSW fighter Rafał Moks.
 
The Mańkowski vs. Zawada clash will precede the anticipated heavyweight grudge match between Mariusz Pudzianowski and Paweł Nastula as well as the event’s headliner which features Mamed Khalidov against a yet-to-be-announced opponent.
