It is one of the most heated rivalries ever seen in the KSW federation. Mateusz Gamrot (13-0) and Norman Parke (23-6-1) simply do not like each other. They were first introduced to each other just this year when Parke was named as the challenger for Gamrot’s lightweight title at the monumental KSW 39 event this past may.

Right away they clashed in the build-up to that fight. Pre fight words were exchanged and they had to be separated at the weigh-ins and it all culminated in a very controversial fight. In the second round it appeared that Gamrot bit Parke’s finger and after a break in the action the fight resumed. In the end Gamrot walked away with the judges decision, a result which split fans around the world. As a result KSW ordered an immediate rematch at KSW 40 and for it to be a five round fight. Something which Gamrot says he is more than prepared for but might not need.

"I never fought at this distance but neither has Norman," explained the champ. "Maybe there will be no 4th or 5th round because I will finish him quicker, but if it goes to the championship rounds then I am fully prepared."

The bad blood between the two top 155lbs fighters has continued into the build up for this fight. In Dublin, at a media event, security had to separate them from one another. Overall Gamrot says he respects all opponents but finds it very hard to respect Parke due to all that has happened and all that was said.

"I knew that Norman will try to do something stupid in Dublin but I don’t want to play his game. It’s funny to me", said Gamrot. "I respect anyone who steps into the cage to fight with me, but Norman does not respect me and he said too much trash. So I do not see why I should respect him."

With this being their second fight in just six month it is safe to say that these two know each other pretty well. This has made the undefeated champion more confident. In their first fight he explained he took everything Parke had and he still won. Now he is looking to make a statement and beat the Antrim native in front of his own fans.

"I know what he is capable of. In the first fight he showed everything he has and still lost", said Gamrot. "Because of that I am even more confident heading the rematch. I’ve improved my wrestling skills, so this time he will land on his back a few times for sure. I want to humiliate Norman on his turf. I want to win clearly to close this history. I’m looking to make this fight interesting for fans. I hope that there will be fireworks from the first to the last second of the fight. I will be the one who beats him for first time in Ireland for many years. I love to fight on my opponent soil, it gives my double-power."
