"If Jan wants to go to the UFC hard enough, I don’t see why not" – interview with Thierry Sokoudjou

We encourage you to read the interview with KSW world light heavyweight champion Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou. The Team Quest fighter talks about his upcoming trip to Poland and his preparation for the KSW 17 rematch against Jan Blachowicz. Check out the interview below:

It will be your second KSW outing, once again against Jan Blachowicz. Did you enjoy your first visit here. What can you about our country and about our show?
- I really enjoyed my first visit in Poland, and I feel lucky to be back again. I love Poland, people are really nice out there and the show is really awesome. I love the work done by the production, it make me relive my Pride FC moments. It’s fantastic!
Jan Blachowicz said in multiple interviews that he hadn’t been himself your first bout that’s why he wanted this rematch. You’ve accepted the fight even though you didn’t have to. Tell us why.
- I’m a fighter and I fight whoever wants to fight me. As far as Jan saying he wasn’t himself, I hope November 26th he will be who he thinks he should have been. And I’m looking forward to it!
It will be your first defense of the KSW light heavyweight belt. Does the title you put on the line change anything in preparations for this fight?
- Although it would be my first ever title defense, I don’t think I’ll take it any different than any other fight. I always train my hardest.
You’ve become a father recently. Our congratulations! How did your new born child affect your mental preparation?
- Being a father has been great, and it makes me want to do even better so I can provide for my family.
I’ve asked you about this before, I’ll ask one more time. What do you think about Blachowicz as a fighter? How do you rate his MMA skills?
- I think Jan is a good skilled fighter and I’m honored to fight him again.
Many Polish experts, even Sherdog.com journalists see Blachowicz’s future in the UFC. Do you think he has a chance to get there some day?
- I think anybody can do anything they put their mind into it, and I’m sure if Jan wants to go to the UFC hard enough, I don’t see why not.
Is returning to the UFC one of your goals? Do you think it’s possible that the winner of this bout will end up signing with the Fertitta brothers organization?
- Obviously the UFC is the organization that has most of the best fighters in the world, but right now I’m focusing on November 26th, and I want to make sure I give a good show to the Polish fans.
Thanks for the interview.
- My pleasure and cheers to all MMA fans in Poland!
