Jewtuszko injured. Mateusz Gamrot meets Andre Winner at KSW 24

We are extremely sorry to inform that the announced lightweight championship match-up between Maciej Jewtuszko and Andre Winner will not be a part of the KSW 24 card on September 28th in Łódź’s Atlas Arena.

KSW champion’s knee injury, that bothered him for the last few months, occurred to be more severe that it was initially thought. More details about his withdrawal from the fight will be released soon.

KSW Federation made a quick decision to find a worthy replacement. The young and talented lightweight Mateusz Gamrot from Ankos Zapasy Poznań received the chance of his life and will now face the experienced Britt. It is a remarkable opportunity for the Pole to compete against the former UFC fighter and The Ultimate Fighter reality show runner-up.

- Matuesz weren’t in KSW plans for the rest part of the year, so when we received the offer to replace Jewtuszko we decided to take it. He’s a young fighter and has to fight as often as possible. If you want to be the best you have to face the best. Winner is a solid fighter, definitely more experienced than “Gamer”, however the ring will answer who is better. – Gamrot’s coach Andrzej Kościelski says.

Young fighter from Poznań is currently in  the middle of the training camp. When he learnt about the fight, he pushed the tempo of his preparations to get ready for the Englishman. Being only twenty-three years old, Gamrot faces the great honor and the biggest challenge of his career. In the beginning of his MMA route he gets his chance to fight one of the best European lightweights.

Gamrot vs Winner showdown is expected to be as intriguing as the original match-up. The fight is contracted in the 70 kilograms weight limit for three five-minute rounds.
