Kalindra Faria faces Karolina Kowalkiewicz at KSW 30
Female MMA superstar in Poland Karolina Kowalkiewicz (6-0, 1 KO, 2 Sub) will face decorated Brazilian Kalindra Faria (15-4-1, 6 KO, 4 Sub) at KSW 30. The first ever clash of two top-ten ranked fighters on Polish soil will serve as one of three headliners of the February 21st show in Poznań.
The 28-year-old Faria is a veteran of twenty professional bouts, with fifteen victories and ten finishes. She boast a record of eleven wins in her last twelve outings with her sole defeat coming against the world’s best female strawweight Jessica Aguilar, after the competitive five-round encounter. The Brazilian is currently ranked number ninth in the world according to Unified Women’s MMA Rankings.
Kowalkiewicz, ranked seventh in the world, is undefeated in her pro career with six victories. The Gracie Barra Łódź fighter won the KSW title, submitting Marta Chojnoska back in 2013. Later, she scored impressive victories over Invicta FC veterans Simona Soukupova and Jasimnka Cive. In her US debut Kowalkiewicz outduelled talented Japanese opponent Mizuki Inoue last November.
The world-class battle between Kowalkiewicz and Faria will precede two exciting welterweight bouts in Poznań’s Arena. In the anticipated rematch, KSW’s deadliest grappler Rafał Moks (10-6, 9 Sub) locks horns with former KSW champion Aslambek Saidov (15-4, 3 KO, 4 Sub), while the KSW 30 main event will feature up-and-coming star Borys Mańkowski (16-5-1, 3 KO, 6 Sub) defending his title against crafty Russian Mikhail Tsarev (29-4, 8 KO, 19 Sub)
