KO Machine vs. Submission Specialist at KSW 46
An important fight in the lightweight division has been added to the KSW 46 card on December 1 as the KO machine Gracjan Szadzinski (8-2) faces off against submission specialist Marian Ziolkowski (19-7-1). With a combined finishing ratio of nearly 85% and thirteen first round stoppages between them, this fight has all the makings for a very exciting match-up.
Szadzinski comes into this fight off the biggest win of his career - a devastating KO win over UFC veteran Paul Redmond. The 28-year-old showed great composure against Redmond, after losing the first round he then came back and put the whole lightweight division on notice when he landed a series of punches that KO’d the experienced Irishman stiff. It also became the sixth TKO/KO finish of his career thus far.
However, Szadzinski faces a very tough task in the shape of Ziolkowski, a fighter with good hands of his own and a very formidable ground game. The experienced Pole has earned five wins by TKO/KO and twelve via submission. This ability to finish his opponents on the ground or standing has earned the 28-year-old the nickname as ’The Golden Boy’.
KSW 46 will be headlined by the much anticipated rematch between the legend Mamed Khalidov (34-5-2) and KSW light heavyweight champion Tomasz Narkun (15-2). The pair met earlier this year as we saw Narkun come from behind and end Khalidov’s twenty fight KSW unbeaten streak in what is a ’Fight of the Year’ contender. The co-main will see undefeated lightweight champion Mateusz Gamrot (14-0) goes for a second title as he faces submission ace Kleber Koike Erbst (24-4-1) for the vacant featherweight title.
