De Fries has looked like an unstoppable force in KSW ever since winning the title in his debut in 2018. The UK native has defended his title three times fending off former champion Karol Bedorf, current 205lbs champ Tomasz Narkun, & Brazil's Luis Henrique, and has risen to become one of the top ranked heavyweights on the planet.

2020 has proven to be a big year for Michal Kita. The veteran earned his shot against Phil De Fries following back to back first round KO wins over UFC veteran Igor Pokrajac and former KSW title challenger Michal Andryszak, respectively. With seventeen career wins by stoppage, Kita is a dangerous opponent with great momentum behind him heading into this title fight.
