KSW & Martin Lewandowski Nominated for World MMA Awards
The annual Fighter’s Only World MMA Awards nominations were released this week.
KSW has been nominated among the five finalists for ’Best Promotion’ for the second year running. 2018 saw KSW’s continued expansion both domestically and internationally. The number of events increased and there was a majorly successful return to London, England.
The year both started and ended very strong for KSW as Mamed Khalidov and Tomasz Narkun served as the main event for both KSW 42 and KSW 46, book-ending the year with a pair of instant classic fights and helping packing out both the Atlas Arena in Lodz and selling out 15,000 tickets at the newly opened Arena Gliwice.
Over 10,000 fans attended KSW 45 at Wembley Arena, the first KSW event in London since 2015. The UK’s very own Phil De Fries made history by becoming the first ever fighter in KSW history to win a title and then defend it on home soil when he submitted former heavyweight champ Karol Bedorf in the main event.
KSW CEO and co-owner Martin Lewandowski has also been nominated in the ’Leading Man’ category for the second year running too. He is listed alongside other industry leaders like Dana White (UFC) and Scott Coker (Bellator) for this prestigious award.
