KSW15: Chmielewski vs Zikic
The fifteenth Martial Arts Confrontation is stacked with exciting and meaningful match-ups. In the middleweight extra fight two-time KSW tournament champion Antoni Chmielewski will battle one of the UK’s MMA scene true veterans, former Cage Rage champion James Zikic.
Zikic is a very experienced competitor, who fought some of the best fighters in the sport such as Fabricio Werdum, Vitor Belfort or Jeremy Horn. His MMA record stands nineteen wins, seven losses and two draws. He has background in boxing and wrestling. The Messanger made his KSW debut in December 2009, when he outpointed Daniel Dowda at KSW 15. Since then he fought for the biggest English promotion BAMMA, as well as Japanese organization Sengoku.
Antoni Chmielewski is one of the pioneers of Polish MMA. With twenty-eight fights to his record and tweny-one victories he’s one of the most experienced fighters here. It will be his third fight at middleweight and he sports an unblemished 2-0 record in this weight category. Chmielewski earned decision victories against Gregory Babene and Vitor Nobrega in his last two outings. All the fans who closely follow “Chmielu’s” career realize how well-rounded he’s become over the years. He sharpened his stand-up skills, what in combination with his grappling skills makes him a dangerous fighter in every area of the MMA game. A decisive victory over Zikic may open a lot of new doors in front of Chmielewski and he’s aware of that. He spent part of his training camp in famous Mike’s Gym in Amsterdam to be fully prepared for what the Englishman brings to the table.
This should be a great fight for the fans. Two experienced warriors going at each other at full speed. A lot excitement and mixed martial arts competition at the highest level.
