KSW Federation is honored to announce the headlining fight of the upcoming fifteenth Martial Arts Confrontation, March 19th in Warsaw. The best MMA fighter in Poland Mamed Khalidov will square off against the American James Irvin.

Mamed Khalidov’s opponent is thirty-three years old and fights out of the famous Reign Team in California, where he trains with Renato Sobral and Krzysztof Soszynski. His MMA record stands: fifteen wins and eight defeats. Irvin is a former WEC heavyweight champion and is a ten-time UFC veteran. He’s an author of many spectacular finishes including unforgettable eight-second superman punch KO over Houston Alexander.
The popular Sandman fought the who is who of MMA competitors including the best middleweight in the history of the sport Anderson Silva as well as Thiago Silva, Stephan Bonnar and Scott Smith. Mamed Khalidov was originally scheduled to face Matt Lindland at KSW 15. Unfortunately the American broke his hand and had to withdraw from the bout. KSW Federation owners quickly found a replacement opponent – the Brazilian Thales Leites. He also wasn’t lucky enough to come to Poland as he hurt his knee and decided he’s not ready to challenge the Polish star. KSW promoters rose to the occasion and found another quality opponent for Khalidov. – Finding suitable opponents for Mamed is a difficult task. After a week-long negotiations we were able to sign James Irvin who is a former WEC champion, renowned UFC veteran and fought very good opponents in his MMA career. I have no doubts that Khalidov vs Irvin clash will satisfy even the most fastidious fans. – KSW co-owner Martin Lewandowski says.
KSW 15 main event is another tough fight for the Chechen born fighter, who is undefeated in the KSW ring. – Irvin vs Khalidov is a world-class fight! Mamed has never lost in Warsaw’s Torwar and I’m confident he’ll continue this streak. If he wins, we’ll probably see him at KSW 16. – KSW Federation co-owner Maciej Kawulski adds.

KSW Team standout dedicated this fight to his new motherland. He trains for Irvin in Arrachion MMA Olsztyn under coaches Szymon Bonkowski and Pawel Derlacz. In his training camp he’s been focusing on improving his wrestling skills. Mamed has trained with many accomplished wrestlers and he’s more than ready to face his American foe. – My training camp has been very intensive. I feel great and I hope I will put on a great show in Warsaw – Khalidov tells us.
