A major success. These are the words which describe the twelfth Martial Arts Confrontation event. The show turned out to be the second biggest combat sports event in 2009 in Poland, next to Polsat Boxing Night. Seven thousand People at Torwar Hall and six million TV viewers witnessed many exciting fights under the toughest MMA rules. Brief reports from all the fights and exceptional pictures gallery below:

DAWID BAZIAK vs. MAKSIM GRISHIN
- I'm not German! I'm Polish and I was born and raised in Lower Silesia - confessed Baziak the day before his fight. He wasn’t lying as he entered the opening ceremony with White and Red flag. His bout against Maksim Grishin was very even. Both fighters decided to trade punches, what resulted in serious cardio problems for both of them. After the second round the judges weren’t able to award one fighter the victory and the extra round was ordered. Baziak was more active fighter in the additional 3-minute period and he beat the Red Devil fighter Maksim Grishin via unanimous decision. Pictures below

WOJCIECH ORŁOWSKI vs. DAVID OLIVIA
This was a classic wrestler vs. wrestler mach-up. Illinois State wrestling champion in one corner and one of best the wrestlers in Poland in the other. The American Olivia proved to be a better fighter as he threw Orlowski from the clinch, capitalized on his mistake to take his back and pounded him into submission.

KAROL BEDORF vs. ARUNAS VILIUS
Without a doubt this was one of the best fights on the KSW 12 card. The bout portrayed what MMA is all about. We saw crisp kickboxing combinations, explosive takedowns and slick grappling holds. Karol Coco Bedorf from Szczecin took home the victory after he caught Vilius in the textbook kimura from his back. Unfortunately the Szczecin Top Team fighter wasn't able to enter the semifinal due to an injury. - Karol's got a concussion, he can't fight. - the coach Piotr Baginski said.

DANIEL OMIELANCZUK vs. KOSTYA GLUHOV
Another outstanding battle. Both fighters are strikers with decent ground game. Gluhov narrowly won both rounds and the judges declared him the winner. Because of Bedorf's concussion, the Latvian automatically advanced to the tournament final in May 2010.

DAVID OLIVIA vs. DANIEL OMIELANCZUK
Because of a broken thumb Dawid Baziak was forced to pull out of the Heavyweight Tournament. He was replaced by another Polish fighter Daniel Omielanczuk. After two razor-close rounds David Olivia got the judges nod. In May 2010 he will battle Kostya Gluhov for the KSW 105 kilograms tournament title.

DANIEL DOWDA vs. JAMES ZIKIC
In tight yellow lycra suit, with a yellow hat and sunglasses on, accompanied by 4P rapper Danie Kociao Dowda entered the ring. You've got to admit it was an impressive entrance. However his performance inside the ring wasn't that spectacular. Experienced James Zikic didn't let Dowda endanger him on the ground and dictated the fight be contested on the feet, where Polish fighter is not so strong. After two rounds of action, the judges returned the unanimous verdict in favor of the Englishman from London Shootfighters. - Like Karol I also suffered a concussion. Only today I was able to shake this off, till yesterday I had a severe headache - Kociao admitted on Sunday.

MARIUSZ PUDZIANOWSKI vs. MARCIN NAJMAN
This was the fight which thousands in attendance and millions around the world waited for. Five times World’s Strongest Man against professional heavyweight boxer. The opening bell, uproar in the crowd and composure of both fighters. It was Najman who attacked first, but the popular Pudzian blocked his punch. It turned out to be the only strike the boxer threw that night, because Pudzianowski instantly jumped all over him. One, two, three and many more legkicks landed on the El Testosteron’s thigh. It was the nail the coffin for Najman, who buckled, landed on the ground, where Pudzianowski was pounding him with furious hammer fists to the head. This was the end. The referee Tomasz Bronder stopped this uneven contest and Mariusz was declared the victor. Although the bout didn’t last long, only forty-four seconds, it provided unforgettable excitement. The favorite, World’s Strongest Man Mariusz Pudzianowski won his MMA debut. It’s worth-mentioning that the main event winner trophy was presented by long-time KSW Federation friend Polsat Sport CEO Marian Kmita.

MACIEJ GÓRSKI vs. DEAN AMASINGER
Unfortunately Maciej Gorski lost to Dean Amasinger. The Englishman caught our fighter in the tight guillotine choke in the first round. – This was my last fight at seventy-seven kilograms weight limit, this was my second and the last try – Highlander commented after the fight.

ASLAMBEK SAIDOV vs. VITOR NOBREGA
The great final of KSW 11 eighty-five kilograms tournament. As befits the title fight, the bout was very stiff and technical. Although both fighters left it all in the ring, no one was able to submit or knock out his opponent. After three five-minute rounds, which is the standard for championship fights, the Brazilian should have been awarded the victory, however the judges called for the extra round. While most of the spectators thought Aslambek Saidov deserved to win, it was Nobrega who got the judges nod.
