"Whoever they put in front of me I don’t care, I want the belt" - Jay Silva before KSW 29

Exciting middleweight striker Jay Silva returns to KSW after completing the memorable trilogy with Michał Materla. The Angolan fighter faces Piotr Strus at KSW 29 on December 6th in Kraków. We are able to have a quick chat with Silva before the upcoming bout:

It will be your 4th fight for KSW. How happy are you, that you’ll be able compete in Poland again?

I’m really happy to be back home. I feel like Poland is my second home. I love fighting out there and it’s an honor to be on this card with so many great fighters.

What do you think about Strus as an opponent? What are his strengths and weaker points? Did you have any hesitation before taking this fight on short-notice?

Strus is a good fighter, I think KSW have the best fighters out there so I’m just happy to be back. He’s a tough and well-rounded fighter. He’s good pretty much everywhere so I have to be ready for everything he brings to the table.

I never think twice about fighting anybody, that’s my job to fight whoever the promoters chooses. Whoever they put in front of me I don’t care, I want the belt, that’s all I want!

It will be the first time you fight in the cage in KSW. Does it make any difference to you?

Yes, in the States we always train in the cage, so it’s a lot more tricks I can do in the cage. I’m really happy to fight in the cage for the first time.

What have you been up to since March’s bout? Where do you train for this bout?

I’ve been getting fat, eating everything I can (laughs). Seriously, I’ve been in the gym everyday helping my training partners getting ready for their fights. Now it’s my time and I’m back home training again at Reign Training Center working with Mark Munoz on my wrestling, cause that’s all I missed on my last fight. I’m also still training at RVCA gym as well with better people everyday.
