Saleta vs. Najman – experts picks

The fourteenth Martial Arts Confrontation show is stacked with amazing math-ups. One of the extra fights features a showdown between two boxers Przemyslaw Saleta and Marcin Najman. They both have already fought MMA, both lost, but this time somebody will leave the ring victorious. Who will it be? We’ve asked combat sports experts about it. Their predictions are available below.

- Judging from a sporting perspective, this fight won’t be a barnburner. Przemek and Marcin had very long lay-offs from boxing. I’m curious, who will be better prepared both physically and mentally. Marcin in his bout against Pudzian didn’t show any skills, he ran away and then surrendered the fight. In his boxing career he also didn’t have any major successes. In contrast you have to remember that Przemek was a kickboxing World Champion and boxing European Champion. However, it remains to be seen whether he’ll be able to come back in shape after the surgery. If it’s not a problem, Przemek will stop him. He’s definitely more experienced in the ring. On the other hand MMA is as unpredictable as boxing, one lucky punch can decide a victor. I plan to attend KSW 14 in Lodz to see the fights live. – former WBO, WBA, IBF World Champion Dariusz Tiger Michalczewski says.

- I hope this fight will last longer than Pudzianowski vs. Najman bout. It will be interesting, although I don’t expect much MMA action, because they’re both pretty novice in the sport. Although at the moment everyone awaits the next Pudzianowski’s fight, because of both fighters celebrity status, this bout may suddenly become the main event of the evening – Polsat Sport president Marian Kmita declares.

- Showdown between Przemyslaw Saleta and Marcin Najman cannot be perceived from a sporting perspective. It’s rather a confrontation of two different ways of understanding the professional sport: Przemek’s, who with his career proved that he’s an athlete first, a celebrity second and Marcin’s who wants to be both – a celebrity and an athlete. Judging from their achievements, Saleta is a clear favorite. If he’s well-trained he’ll win via KO – he’s a skilled technical boxer and formidable kickboxer. Najman may try to change this confrontation into a slugfest. The longer it lasts, the better for him – Writer for Polska The Times and Budo.pl Oskar Berezowski says.

- Saleta should be the favorite, but it’s really hard to predict the outcome of the fight, when the sworn enemies face each other. Besides the sporting aspect, here the personal grudge plays a huge factor as it gives the fighters additional motivation. If we judge this bout through the experience, combat sports achievements and psychical attributes Saleta has an enormous edge. If we compare just these three aspects, the European Heavyweight Boxing Champion has to be a strong favorite. Marcin Najman will need to do something unpredictable to not only surprise the fans, but most importantly Saleta himself. “El Testosteron” admits in the interviews that he lost the most important fights so far. However the fight against Saleta seems to be the most important of the most important in his career, because he announced that he’ll retire if he losses this bout. It’s also pretty interesting that usually very open to media Najman didn’t let any reporters see his trainings. He may have learnt that lesson from Pudzianowski’s preparations, when his full trainings were available online. Saleta is a strong favorite, but in MMA anything can happen, especially in the heavyweight division. – Chief editor of Boxingnews.pl Lukasz Glowacki analyses.

- The bout between Marcin Najman and Przemyslaw Saleta could end up being a very interesting and even showdown with Saleta having a slight edge. Their experience in Mixed Martial Arts is marginal, they both had one fight and both lost. In order to predict the outcome, you have look into their boxing and kickboxing achievements, as both of them competed in those combat sports. The number of fights and successes has to make Przemyslaw Saleta a favorite in the upcoming fight at KSW 14 – Tomasz Nieboga from Onet.pl predicts.

- In my opinion Przemek Saleta’s experience in boxing and kickboxing will be the deciding factor in this bout. Physical attributes are also on Przemek’s side, that’s why I bet on him – Interim WBC Youth World Champion Mateusz Masternak expects.

- Regardless of the sporting quality and the criticism directed towards KSW owners for organizing this bout, a few millions of people will watch it. It’s hard to predict the outcome not seeing both fighters in action for a significant amount of time, however, quality of wins, experience and physical attributes unequivocally identify Saleta as a favorite. Marcin Najman has probably only two options if he wants to win this fight – either taking it to the ground (although he’s not a ground fighter himself) or an instant aggressive attack to surprise his foe. I pick Saleta to win via second round TKO – Writer for Interia.pl Dariusz Jaron predicts.

- Saleta will win on judges’ scorecards, after an uneventful fight. As opposed to Najman, Przemek has been a fighter with successes - writer for MMARocks.pl Wojslaw Rysiewski says.

- In my opinion Przemyslaw Saleta is a clear favorite. Przemek had formidable boxing and kickboxing careers and has an extensive experience in combat sports. He was boxing European champion and World kickboxing champion, he can punch, kick and he’s much taller than Najman. I believe that taking it to the ground is the only way to win for Marcin and I highly doubt he’ll do that. Saleta will win and he’ll do everything what he promised – he’ll torture Najman and then finish him. – Writer for Boxingnews.pl Sebastian Żurawski predicts.

- This fight will last as long as Saleta wants it. Their stand-up skills are years apart and it’s doubtful Najman will initiate any actions on the ground. Actually, it’s really hard to imagine a scenario which will give Najman a victory in this bout. Saleta will let this fight go to the second stanza and then he’ll put an exclamation mark on the fight finishing his rival. Saleta via TKO – Writer for Sports.pl Pawel Kowalik says.

- I believe Przemek will takes this fight, because of his superior stand-up. Marcin Najman is a nice guy, but he doesn’t posses any ground skills to threaten Saleta there. I think Przemek will be consistently taking his opponent apart on the feet. Even if Najman takes him down, you have to remember that to fight on the ground you need a minimum of abilities there. In my humble opinion Saleta will win this one – KSW 12 and KSW 13 vet Wojciech Orlowski expects.

- I haven’t seen enough of them in the MMA ring to formulate a detailed analysis. If I’m to pick a winner, it has to be Przemyslaw Saleta, because in his prime he was a better boxer and kickboxer than Marcin Najman – Writer for MMARocks.pl Tomasz Marciniak says.
