The upset of the year

123 fights took place inside the KSW cage in 2024. Some of them turned out to be very surprising. Let us remind you those of them which impressed us and our fans the most in 2024.

Isai Ramos vs. Ramzan Jembiev (XTB KSW 90)

On January 20th, 2024, Ramzan Jembiev who was riding a five win streak faced Isai Ramos, a young prospect from Venezuela who had his KSW debut. After a few kicks thrown by both sides, Ramos pulled his opponent to his guard and submitted him from his back as early as in the first minute of the fight.

 

Laid Zerhouni vs. Bartosz Fabiński (XTB KSW 90)

On January 20th, 2024, in the second co-main event of XTB KSW 90, the experienced Bartosz Fabiński faced Laïd Zerhouni, the champion of the French organization Hexagone MMA. Both gentlemen were making their debut for KSW. The Pole rushed forward right from the get-go, but Laïd Zerhouni instantly countered him with powerful boxing combinations. He landed one shot after another, eventually knocking Fabiński out in the 12th second of the fight.

 

Welisson Paiva vs. Maciej Kazieczko (XTB KSW 96)

On July 20th, 2024, Maciej Kazieczko, the former challenger for the lightweight championship, faced Welisson Paiva making his debut in KSW. Both gentlemen demonstrated some incredible striking skills. They both endured some tough moments, but Welisson proved to be more effective even though he stepped in as a submission at the last moment. At the end of round three, he threw another successful attack to make the Pole sway on his legs. Paiva then charged forward and knocked Kazieczko out, thus ending the fight.

 

Adam Brysz vs. Hugo Deux (XTB KSW 96)

On July 20th, 2024, we witnessed a Polish/French welterweight bout. Hugo Deux faced Adam Brysz who decided to step inside the cage a few hours earlier and proceeded to demonstrate a lot of character. In the first round, it was Deux who applied pressured and imposed his fighting style, but in the second one the Pole managed to turn the tides of the fight. Both sides engaged in some powerful attacks. At some point, blood appeared on the Frenchman’s face, so the Polish fighter gained momentum and kept on hitting his opponent to eventually put him on the canvass in the last second of the round.

 

Mamed Chalidow vs. Adrian Bartosiński (XTB KSW 100)

On November 16th, 2024, we witnessed a superfight in the main event of XTB KSW 100 in Gliwice. Mamed Khalidov, the genuine KSW legend, returned to the cage to face Adrian Bartosiński, the welterweight champion. Adrian definitely took the initiative in the first round as he took Mamed down and proceeded to punch him on the ground. In the second round, Mamed turned the tides and took Bartosiński to the ground himself. Suddenly, he got behind his opponent’s back and locked a choke. Within seconds, he inverted the position, grabbed Adrian in an armbar and forced him to tap out.
