Sengoku middleweight title bout ended a few minutes ago. After hard-fought, five round battle Jorge Santiago retained his belt. He won, but should've lost to KSW Team fighter
- Mamed clearly won three rounds. Even when Santiago applied a kimura in the second, our fighter had the advantage. I don't want to blame anyone, but the outcome should've been different. It once again proved that in order to beat the champ you have to knock him out - KSW Federation co-owner Maciej Kawulski said after the bout.
- We didn't succeed. We lost on points after a tough war. The judges decision was unjust and everyone says that. Hard luck. We learnt a lot with this loss and we want to come back here and conquer Japanese MMA scene - added KSW Federation co-owner Martin Lewandowski.
Immediately after the fight Mamed went to hospital to have his three-centimeter cut stitched. It's not a severe injury and the fighters himself is fine. - I won the second, the third and the fourth round. I struck a lot, a lot of ground and pound. What can you do, the judges saw that differently. If you fight against the champion, you have to dominate him or knock him out. You can't win all the time.
