On Saturday night at KSW 41 Marcin Wrzosek (12-4) embarks on his journey back towards the title. The 30-year-old joined the KSW ranks following a stint on season 22 of ’The Ultimate Fighter’ as a member of Team McGregor. His debut came at KSW 35 where he defeated Filip Wolanski, a fighter who was on an eight-fight-win-streak, via unanimous decision.
 
This win and performance earned Wrzosek a shot at the then-champ Artur Sowinski and the pair met at KSW 37. It was ’The Polish Zombie’s’ night as he won via TKO due to injury in the second round. Without resting on his laurels for too long, Wrzosek first title defense came against Kleber Koike Erbst at the historic KSW 39 event earlier this year. Erbst had entered the contest with a fierce reputation of submitting opponents and on a 17-1 streak and after three hard fought rounds it was Erbst who had his hand raised.
 
Now Wrzosek is focused on getting the belt back and sees KSW 41 as the first step in realising his goal.
 
"Training been going well, I’m injury free and that’s most important thing," said Wrzosek. "I’m really determined to get that belt back and my next fight will be first step to do that. I feel really good, strong, fast, pissed off and ready to take another scalp for my collection."

 
His opponent this Saturday is Roman Szymanski (10-3), a 24-year-old who enters this contest with confidence having went 2-0 in KSW since making his debut almost 12 months ago. Although Wrzosek is the more experienced competitor in big fights he does recognise the threats posed by Szymanski but he also hopes the youngster will come to fight.
 
"I know he is a game opponent and that’s what matters to me," stated Wrzosek. "If he comes out to put on an entertaining fight and not bore the audience to death I will be chuffed but I can’t let him catch his groove and impose his will because that’s where he gets most dangerous. I think we are both all rounders but I definitely perform better under the pressure than him."
 
In order to get another shot at the title though Wrzosek says he must put on another good performance and has a message for the KSW fans.
 
"I know that I have to put an exciting fight in order to get that title shot again but everybody knows when the Zombie is fighting they better not blink," smiled Wrzosek. "KSW fans buy your pay per views and get your popcorn ready because there will be some proper Xmas ass whooping!"
